Tonight, NBC's “Saturday Night Live” returns from its two-week hiatus with an all-new episode hosted by Academy Award Winner Jamie Foxx. Joining Foxx tonight as the show's musical guest is Rapper Ne-Yo; who will be appearing on the show for the first time.
Jamie Foxx is hosting the show for his second time; his first actually being the first show if 2000. Jamie Foxx is a very good actor; winning the Academy Award in 2005 for his strong performance as the legendary singer Ray Charles. Foxx is also a comedic performer; having joined the cast of “In Living Color” in its third season. Jamie Foxx has also appeared in comedic films as well; his most recent was last year's “Horrible Bosses”- which starred current “Saturday Night Live” Castmember Jason Sudeikis.
Tonight, Jamie Foxx is hosting to promote his next film “Django Unchained”; which opens Christmas Day. In the movie, which is directed by Quentin Tarentino, Foxx portrays the titular character Django; a slave that that becomes a bounty hunter who sets out to rescue his wife, played by Kerry Washington, from a plantation owner; played by Leonardo Dicaprio. Foxx will also be starring in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” as Electro; one of the superhero's enemies that has the power to harness great amounts of electricity. The sequel to this year's blockbuster is open in 2014.
I truly hope that tonight's episode of “Saturday Night Live” is good; as there hasn't been an entirely great show yet this season. The cast, writers, and crew of the long-running sketch comedy show had a few weeks off, and hopefully they are ready to put on a memorable show.
And, to start the night off right, I am going to post some possible sketches and occurrences that could take place tonight. So, without further ado, I now present to you:
Some Predictions for “Saturday Night Live” Season Thirty-Eight: Episode Nine- Jamie Foxx / Ne-Yo
- Since he is also a known stand-up comic, I wouldn't be surprised if Jamie Foxx gets to do a comedy set for his monologue. Since most of this season's monologues have been musical in nature, it would be nice to see some good stand-up for a change. The only host that got the opportunity to do a stand-up monologue was Louis C.K. When he hosted on November 3rd. Thus, it would be nice to see something different tonight. However, this comes to my next point.
- Since Jamie Foxx also has an established musical career, I wouldn't actually be surprised if he gets to do a musical monologue as well. I wouldn't mind seeing a musical monologue tonight; but I would like to see Jamie Foxx get the opportunity to do some stand-up comedy tonight.
- Seeing as Jamie Foxx won the Academy Award for his performance as Ray Charles in 2005's “Ray,” I wouldn't be surprised to see the actor reprise his portrayal tonight.

And finally,
- Seeing as Jamie Foxx has established himself as recording artist, having released four albums, his most recent was 2010's “Best Night of My Life,” I would not be surprised if he gets the opportunity to perform with Ne-Yo at some point during the night. The whole performance would get a lot of positive feedback from the audience. So henceforth, I wouldn't be surprised to see Foxx perform with the show's musical guest.
So those are my predictions. Nevertheless, throughout the show, I will be commenting on the performances of Jamie Foxx, the “Saturday Night Live” cast as well as Ne-Yo. I will also be commenting the writing of the sketches as well as whether or not Foxx has good comedic chemistry with the cast. And following the show, I will be posting a review that outlines my opinions in greater detail. Needless to say, I am going to be VERY busy tonight.
So be sure to have your televisions set to NBC by 11:30pm and have my blog on your computers.
