Thank you all for following my blog tonight
That concludes my live-blogging coverage Thank you all for following my blog tonight and stay tuned for more Nater-Tainment! Good night everybody!
Well, that's the show. Not a Terrible Show Tonight at All!!
Jim Carrey was easily the best part of the show. His energetic performances really were a significant part of why tonight's show wasn't bad at all. Also, it seemed as if most of the cast were trying to improve the quality of the sketches as well. Taran Killam and Kate McKinnon got good airtime in sketches this week And Leslie Jones got to be showcased well for her first night as a credited castmember. In addition, Michael Che continues to impress me with his dynamic delivery on "Weekend Update." I really wish he would be anchoring the weekly segment by himself and that Colin Jost would stick to being just a writer. Also, some the sketches tonight weren't bad. Even though the "Jim Carrey Family Reunion" sketch was basically a rehash of a sketch from 2008, I enjoyed seeing the cast act like Carrey and dress up as different roles that Carrey had played in movies. Also, the best sketches of the night were the "Office Party Costume Conest sketch (mainly due to Jim carrey's and Kate McKinnon's fun performances) as well as the Graveyard sketch (mainly due to Jim Carrey's and Taran Killam's performances). All in all, not a perfect episode, but still not a terrible episode.
One last sketch
Jim Carrey's the best part of this sketch. His creepy character was the only funny part. Vanessa bayer and Cecily Strong were alright, though their material wasn't funny at all. Jim Carrey was basically holding the weight of that sketch. He was a very good host tonight!
Not a great performance by Iggy Azalea at all!! Bring on Prince next week!!!
He'll bring the goods as the musical guest. The show is almost over.
Jim Carrey's sketch performances have been great tonight
He really out his comedic energy into the show tonight. The writing of the sketches wasn't great, but his performances really saved the quality of the show.
We are back with Iggy Azalea
She is not a great performer at all. Her singing voice isn't great all and she's got bad dance moves. Not a great musical guest at all!
Office Halloween party sketch
Vanessa Bayer's character here isn't funny at all. Bayer has been having an off year. The joke of Jim Carrey wearing the same costume as Kate McKinnon's character. This is basically a one-joke sketch as well. Though Jim Carrey's performance has alot of energy. He's really been giving it his all tonight. Carrey and McKinnon dancing throughout the studio was anice tough to the sketch though. I always like whenever the host and cast brake the fourth wall by going off stage. It's agood reminder that SNL is a true variety show and anything can happen when it's live. I liked Lorne Michael's appearance as well.
Kenan Thompson's loud 'acting' has been very annoying tonight
Though it's pretty much his typical shtick on the show. What a shame. That ending was a tad predictable. Not too bad of a sketch though. Would have liked something a little more unexpected though.
Zombie apocalypse sketch.
At least they are doing some creative ideas for sketches tonight. I'm glad that Pete Davidson is getting good role in this sketch
Jim Carrey's performance was the best part of the sketch
He's been the best part of the sketches in the show. He's improving the quality of the writing with his comedic performances.
This seems like it could be a good sketch
Jim Carrey is humorous here as his Illuminati character. He's got a good delivery. His robotic hand is a humorous addition to the sketch. The writing isn't terrible in this sketch.
I have to say that I've been getting more impressed by Michael Che each live show
His quick delivery and personality has COMPLETELY overshadowed Colin Jost's bland brand of comedy. I wonder if Michael Che will be having main roles in sketches outside of "Weekend Update" any time soon. I think he would do well with sketch comedy. On a side note, Vanessa Bayer's new character was not funny at all and Bobby Moynihan's Drunk Uncle bit dragged on too long as usual.
I like Bobby Moynihan in doing more subtle roles on the show.
All his reoccurring characters mainly do is speak way too loudly and just go on too long.
Oh great!! Bobby Moynihan's 'Drunk Uncle' character
Moynihan basically does the same thing over and over again as this character. His "Drunk Uncle" shtick bas basically grown very old. This segment always goes on way too long.
I like Michael Che's confused reactions to Vanessa Bayer's character
I'm glad that he offers something different to "Weekend Update" as a co-anchor. His delivery was perfect and I got some laughs out of his perplexed reactions. Michael Che should be anchoring "Update" solo and Colin Jost NEEDS to go back to being a behind-the-scenes guy. Stick to writing, Colin Jost!!!
Vanessa Bayer's new character here isn't very funny
She hasn't been having a good year so far on the show. Every main sketch she starred in has not been very funny. She seems to not really offer anything special at all.
I like that Michael Che adds his own twist on telling jokes on 'Update' by doing a mini-stand-up routine following the punch-line
Colin Jost, on the other hand, is basically just not funny at all.
This performance is not great at all!!
Prince is going to be GREAT next week!! This performance was mediocrity at best!
Oh great. She's performing her hit single"Fancy"
I got REALLY tired of this song very quickly. This song has been over-played way too much on the radio, Vh1, and other television channels.
That wasn't terrible. At least it was original
The twist of Jim Carrey's Matthew McConaughey running into Kenan Thompson's car insyrance spokesperson was unexpected. The show is getting a little bit better now. I hope it continues.
This isn't a bad sketch
At least it's something differnt. Though I can do without Kenan Thompson's non-funny screaming.
This seems like an entertaining sketch
I'm glafd they are doing a Halloween themed sketch. This isn't bad. Jim Carrey and taran Killam are funny as their not-so-scary characters Paul and Phil.
They did another spook of Macounaghey's car commercials. I figured they would do more.
I'm excited about Chris Rock hosting next week. Though I'm sure the writing will not be great at all. At least he'll most likely give us a great stand-up monologue.
Jeff Daniels' cameo was nice and Ihis impression of Jim Carrey was good as well.
The only difference of this sketch was that the cast played fictional relatives who are being dressed as Carrey's film roles. But other than that, this sketch was practically a rehash.
The premise of this sketch was actually done before.
In Spring 2008, Christopher Walken hosted and they did a sketch where the cast of that period all played fictional relatives of him-- who all takked and mimicked his mannerisms. This sketch isn't exactly original in its setup. The writers are lazy as usua;.
Jim Carrey reunion sketch
Taran Killam's impression of Jim Carrey is good. The basic premose of the sketch is that the cast are playing fictional relatives of Jim Carrey. I see.
Jim Carrey's impression of Matthew McCoughnahey is good here
I like that "Saturday Night Live" is spoofing these ads I wonder if there will be any more of these tonight.
Sarah Silverman's monologue was the only non-musical monologue this season do gat
Jim Carrey's performance is good. But I wish SNL would have done something completely different and unique with Jim Carrey hosting.
Another Musical monologue this season??!! I'm sensing a trend for this season right now
Jim Carrey's performance here is alright. His Though I was hoping for something a little funnier for his monologue. His Elvis voice is good though.
I hope tonight's show is good, but I have doubts due to the bad writing of the sketches
Also, SNL writer leslie Jones joins the cast as a featured player with this episode.
Thompson's performance is alright, but the material just isn't very funny
Not a very special opening at all.
Kenan Thompson's impression of Rev Sharpton is alright, bur the material isn't bery funny
These opening sketches this season haven't been very funny or memorable at all.
Jim Carrey would probably do something a little more special for this opening with his performance
Taran Killam is doing alright. But the material just isn't that funny.
An opening about President Obama appointing the new Ebola Zhaire
Jay Pharoah's impression of President Obama is alright. Taran Killam is doing alright with the material. But the material is just alright.
It's Getting To That Time!

Tonight I am Live-Blogging "Saturday Night Live"!
This evening at 11:30pm, I will be covering the fourth episode of Season Forty of "Saturday Night Live: featuring Guest Host Jim Carrey and Musical Guest Iggy Azalea. Carrey will be hosting the long-running variety series for his third time while Azalea will be performing on the show for her first time.

Jim Carrey first hosted "Saturday Night Live" on May 18th of 1996-- which happened to be the season finale of the series' twenty-first season. The episode ended up being a classic and also solidified Will Ferrell, who joined the show at the start of the season, as a valuable performer Jim Carrey was hosting the show at the peak of his film career; right after starring in movies like "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective", "The Mask", and "Dumb and Dumber"; all of which had been released in 1994 and emerged as comedic hits at the box office. Jim Carrey performed keenly in the evening's sketches. The most memorable of which was a segment which featured the comic actor playing a wild club patron along with Will Ferrell's and Chris Kattan's popular head-bopping characters known as "The Roxbury Guys." The sketch was a lot of fun; particularly due to the wild energy Jim Carrey shared with the two "Saturday Night Live" castmembers, as well as the overall set-up of the piece- which was the three club hoppers crashing a high school prom and a party at a retirement center following their attending of a night club. Another memorable sketch of the night featured Carrey playing an overprotective lifeguard; who was constantly keeping an eye on a perplexed Jacuzzi user; played by Will Ferrell. Carrey and Ferrell possessed great comedic chemistry and it was a delight watching the sketch become more and more crazy as it progressed. I just wish that Jim Carrey had hosted the show once more before Will Ferrell left-- just so we could have seen them star in sketches together again.

Jim Carrey wouldn't host "Saturday Night Live" again until January 8th of 2011. This time, the show proved to be not as memorable; due to the quality of writing declining dramatically. I remember watching the episode, wishing that the writers gave him better material to work with that would have properly Jim Carrey to properly use his wild brand of physical comedy properly. The best sketch of the night was a piece where Carrey and castmember Taran Killam played two sinister-looking animatronic amusement park ride robots that occasionally came alive and terrified a passenger; played by castmember Kenan Thompson. The sketch was particularly enjoyable due to the physical performances of Killam and Carrey; both of whom genuinely looked convincing as their characters. The piece was enjoyable in its performances and writing. And unfortunately, Jim Carrey wouldn't host again for another three years.
Which brings us to tonight's show. Jim Carrey is hosting to promote "Dumb and Dumber To"; the much-anticipated sequel to the original comedic film. Carrey is re-teaming once again with co-star Jeff Daniels; to play lovable dimwits Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne respectively. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels possessed great comedic chemistry in the 1994 film and audiences are eagerly awaiting to see the two characters engage in crazy hijinks once again. Hopefully"Dumb and Dumber To", which opens nationwide on November 14th, is fun movie and a worthy follow-up to its classic predecessor. It would be a lot of fun to see Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels portray their characters on tonight's episode; allowing audiences to enjoy their fun comedic chemistry in one of the evening's sketches or maybe even on "Weekend Update". All we can do is wait and see.

That concludes my live-blogging coverage!
Thank you all for following my blog tonight. I would like to see Sarah Silverman host again when the writing is ever better. Thank you all for your support. Have a good night and stay tuned for more Nater-Tainment!
That's pretty much the whole show
Tonight's episode was basically a mixed bag. Sarah Silverman was an alright host. Though I wish that she got better writing. The best live sketches tonight was basically the "Forgotten TV Gems" sketch. I am also now convinced that Michael Che shou;d be anchoring "weekend Update" solo. He has much more personality than Colin Jost and he has more energy as well. The writing isn't great at all, though. I am REALLY hoping that Bill Hader gets great sketches next week. I miss seeing him regularly on SNL. So next week should be a good show.
This sketch is just dragging. Not a great way to close out tonight's show.
Thanks a lot, SNL writers!! You are not great at all.
Vanessa Bayer gets to star in the final sketch of the show two weeks in a row
This sketch isn't very funny though. Vanessa Maber's material is not great at all. Sarah Silverman is basically playing the straight role in this sketch. I wish she got something funnier for her final role on tonight's show.
The show is almost over
They have time for one more sketch. Let's hope it's a good one to close out the show.
So Maroon 5 have now been on SNL 5 times!
They are now officially in the '5-Timers Club' now. Good for them.
I think they are performing their song "Maps"
This isn't a bad performance. I like thisone a little better than their first one tonight.
That wasn't a bad pre-filmed sketch
Commercials are on now. This hasn't been an entirely bad show so far tonight.. At least the sketches are more creative than last week's. The writing still isn't great and Kenan Thompson and Colin Jost have proven to be the weakest performers in the cast so far this season. They need to go.
Good to see Kyle Mooney star in another pre-taped sketch
Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney always have good chemistry. They are good additions to the show.
Even Kenan Thompson's voice-overs are not funny at all!
This isn't a bad sketch. ThAdam Levine's cameo is pretty funny. The writing of this sketch isn't bad. The performances of the castmembers and Sarah Silverman and Adam Levine are good.
The performances of most of the cast are good tonight, the writing hasn't been entirely funny tonight
Performances are better than the show's writing. The bad writers need to be cleared out of the building and leave the good ones to take full reign of the show.
TGood performances from Cecily Strong, Sasheer Zamata and Sarah Silverman
The writing, however, isn't great though. I blame the writers for that, of course.
The writing isn't very great. But Sarah Silverman and Kate McKinnon gave good performances
Mixed edition of "Weekend Update" tonight. However, Michael Che has truly emerged as the MUCH BETTER "Weekend Update" anchor. Colin Jost needs to stay behind the camera. The guy hardly has any stage presence at all. Michael Che should be anchoring "Weekend Update" solo.
Good to see Sarah Silverman on "Weekend Update"
Kate McKinnon is quite talented. She can play the guitar and she can sing also. She is the most talented female castmember on the show right now.
Michael Che is truly outshining Colin Jost. They should just Michael be the solo anchor
Colin Jost is just a disappointment.
Not a funny segment at all
Michael Che's material isn't great. But he's got the stage presence and personality needed to be a "Weekend Update" anchor.
Colin Jost has no dynamic in his delivery AT ALL this week!!
Just when I thought he was getting better on "Weekend Update" last week. What a shame.
Colin Jost was a little better last week. Now he's back to being his lifeless and bland self.
Oh great. Now we get Kenan Thompson as Reveran Al Sharpton. Not a great impression at all.
Colin Jost showed some improvement last week. This week, however, he seems a little like he was last season
Michael Che, however, is getting into the groove of things already. He's got a good delivery.
AI like seeing Adam Levine on "The Voice". He offers very good advice to the contestants.
This is an alright performance. They are at least better than Ariana Grande was last week.
I really like Maroon 5's earlier music
When they first came out, they had a more R & B / Alternative Rock sound. However, their latter albums became more Pop-Music sounding, and thus sound like most music on the radio now.
Maroon 5 is performing their current single "Animals"
I think the crew of SNL built a new stage for the musical guests this season. It's hard for me to tell with all of the lighting effects.
This hasn't been an entirely bad show so far.
Most of that last sketch was good and there have been a few other laugh-worthy moments so far.
I like all the fake-outs here.
The performances of Sarah Silverman and the female castmembers are good. Kenan Thompson, however, just turned in a performance like all of his other routines.
This seems alright so far
Okay. That is humorous. Their facial reactions and corny music was chuckle-worthy. Though Kenan Thompson is NOT FUNNY AT ALL!!!
I am VERY EXCITED about seeing Bill Hader host SNL next week!!
He is going to be GREAT!! I can't wait for that show! Commercials are on now.
Sarah Silverman's impression of Joan Rivers is alright
Kate McKinnon's impression of Lucille Balle is good. I'm surprised that SNL did a sketch involving Joan Rivers so soon after her death. The bumper was a sweet touch at the end,
This seems like a creative idea
Jay Pharoah's impression of Richard Pryor was alright. And I liked Sasheer Zamata's impression of Eartha Kitt.
At least they are trying to be relevant with that parody
Commercials on now. Not a great opening and only the second hjalf of the monologue was humorous. Hopefully the show gets better.
I never saw "The Fault in Our Stars", though I know what the movie was about from reading articles
The twist idea that it's the Ebola Virus instead of Cancer is a creative idea.
I liked Sarah Silverman's "all of Maroon 5 is here" line
The first part of this monologue wasn't great at all. Though the second half was funnier.
I like that she's addressing her short-term on the show
The pre-taped footage of Sarah Silverman from 1993 is pretty funny. I like how she's poking fun at the fact that she frequently played fake audience members in monologues from her year on the show.
I guess I'm not that familiar with Sarah Silverman's brand of comedy.
This isn't very funny. Sarah Silverman's material isn't very hilarious.
Sarah Silverman going into the audience is alright, I guess.
But it reminds me a little bit of when Vince vaughn hosted back in 2013. Though his monologue was hilarious!! This isn't very funny, though.
Welcome back to SNL, Sarah Silverman!
Twenty years back on the show after her one season as a featured player.
The joke about the White House's security not being great at preventing tresspassors from getting close to the White House was alright, I guess
Not a particularly great opening, however. Performances were good, though. Darrell Hammond's voice-over for the montage is a little better than last week's.
The Twitter jokes are alright, but not particularly great
That Isis/Zach Braff joke wasn't particularly funny. The writing isn't very funny, unfortunately.
We open with a 60 Minutes
Good to see featured player Beck Bennett in the cold opening. Jay Pharoah's impression of President Obama is good as always.
It's Getting To That Time!

Do not miss my live-blogging coverage of tonight's all-new episode of "Saturday Night Live"; featuring Guest Host Sarah Silverman and Musical Guest Maroon 5.
Sarah Silverman is returning to the long-running variety series after twenty years. From Fall of 1993 to Spring of 1994, Sarah Silverman was a featured player. I do not remember much of what she did on the show; as she basically played supporting roles in sketches. Since leaving "Saturday Night Live", however, her stand-up comedy has taken off very strongly. She also starred on the Comedy Central Series "The Sarah Silverman Program"; which aired from 2007 until 2010. I am curious to see what kind of sketches she will appear in as well as how her comedy will mix with the sketch-writing of "Saturday Night Live."
As for Maroon 5, they are making their fifth appearance as the musical guest on "Saturday Night Live". In addition, this will be Adam Levine's first appearance back on the long-running variety show since he hosted on January 26, 2013. I remember that Adam Levine wasn't a particularly great host; as I remember was constantly looking at the cue cards throughout the night and he also didn't seem to be very energetic in most of the live sketches. However, I do enjoy Adam Levine's participation as a vocal coach on NBC's "The Voice"; as he offers great advice to all the contestants and he has very good chemistry with his fellow coaches; particularly with Blake Shelton. If he does appear in any live sketches tonight, I hope Adam Levine displays genuine energy like he does on "The Voice"-- and does not let us down like he did when he hosted "Saturday Night Live"
