All in all, not an entirely great way to start the season

Chris Pratt was a good host; though he wasn't given the best material to work with.  It seems like the writers are still using the concept of stretching out a joke in a sketch in order to fill up the designated runtime.  The cast isn't bad but the material just isn't great.  The show got a little better later on in the show, but the closing sketch wasn't anything amazing.  Michael Che shows potential as a "Weekend Update" anchor and Colin Jost showed some improvement in his delivery.  The writing still isn't great either.  I'm not entirely excited about how this season will go.
